Mars Phoenix Confirms Water

Laboratory tests aboard NASA’s Phoenix Mars Lander have identified water in a soil sample! The lander’s robotic arm delivered the sample to an instrument that identifies vapors produced by the heating of samples.

NASA Confirms Liquid Lake on Saturn Moon

NASA scientists have concluded that at least one of the large lakes observed on Saturn’s moon Titan contains liquid hydrocarbons, and have positively identified the presence of ethane.

Hubble Unveils Colorful Star Birth Region on 100,000th Orbit

In commemoration of NASA’s Hubble Space Telescope completing its 100,000th orbit during its 18th year of exploration and discovery, scientists aimed Hubble to take a snapshot of a dazzling region of celestial birth and renewal.

Cassini Begins Transmitting Data from Enceladus Flyby

The Cassini spacecraft began sending data to Earth following a close flyby of Saturn’s moon Enceladus. During closest approach, Cassini successfully passed only 50 kilometers (30 miles) from the surface of the tiny moon.
